Marlboro’s Angie Peter leads indoor team
Marlboro’s Angie Peter won the 55-meter dash Saturday with a time of 8.03, and it was her second victory of the season in the event. She’s worked hard on her start because no spikes are allowed during the indoor meets at West Point. “I’m mostly working on my arms and starts,” she said.

Ian Pascariello took first place for Marlboro in the long jump in division four, leaping 19 feet and a quarter inch.
During those starts she needs a strong grip – without the spikes.
“You get used to the grounding,” she said.
Prior to Peter’s victory, Aubrey Martin won the 55-meter hurdles for the girls’ team with a time of 10.57. Ian Pascariello won the long jump for Marlboro, leaping 19-feet and quarter inch.
During the boys’ shot-put, Marlboro’s John LaMela led teammates Mike Cavazza and twin bother, Nick with a 2-3-4 finish in the event. Russ Pernal was second in the 55-meter dash for Marlboro, finishing with a time of 7.21.
In their division, division four, Marlboro has had to contend with Ellenville, which always gives the Dukes a fight. But that fight is being met with many who want to help out.
“It’s been a very good year,” said Ron Domanski, who oversees Marlboro’s indoor track program. “We’ve had more people out than ever before.”
When the basketball season ends and the outdoor season begins, Fred Callo is hoping to rely on three members from the boy’s team, Maxx Faircloth, Kyle Wimberly and Joel Casil.
Casil is expected to run the 100 and 200-meter sprints as Wimberly hurdles for the Dukes. Callo is hoping Faircloth does well in the triple and long jumps.
“We’re going to bring a lot of kids from the basketball team,” said Callo.
