Walden man charged in homicide
While questions still surround the incident that left a Connecticut man dead on Friday, police have made an arrest in the case and stated they are not pursuing any other suspects.
Police responded to a residence on North Montgomery Street early Friday morning and discovered the body of Jean P. Lominy, 33, of Connecticut. According to village officials, Lominy was the victim of an assault and succumbed to his injuries.
Walden Police have now arrested Julian J. Hilliard, 22, of Walden, charging him with first-degree manslaughter.
Police have have not released any additional information on the case, declining to comment on the circumstances or possible motive.
Hilliard is no stranger to the back of a Walden patrol car. Over the last three years he has faced multiple charges of assault, trespassing, petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, gang assault, criminal possession of a weapon and other charges.
The investigation is ongoing, in conjunction with the New York State Police and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Investigator Roy Werner of the Walden Village Police at (845) 778-5595.
