Dukes tame Huskies for fifth straight win

After dropping two of their first three games this season, the Marlboro football team appeared to be on the precipice of a rare tough season for the program. But that slow start was just a speck in the rear-view mirror as the Dukes clinched their fourth straight Section 9, Division B- I title last Friday night in a resounding 24-13 home win over Highland. It was the fifth straight win for Marlboro (6-2, 3-0 in division play), who now has a date with Dover in the Section 9, Class B playoffs this Saturday at 3 p.m. in Middletown. Read more…

Highland’s boys’ soccer team had a 1-0 lead at the half at home Thursday, Oct. 16 before Saugerties tied it 1-1 in the second half. But after putting pressure on the Sawyers’ goalie, Ben Ratick found the net for a goal as Highland won 2-1. Read more…

Panthers put away Goshen with big second half

It’s been a long time since John Demy scored a touchdown. For about 99 percent of the game, Demy lines up as the Wallkill Panthers’ offensive left tackle or on the defensive line. For one play Saturday at Goshen’s Gustafson Field, Demy was lined up in the backfield as part of the Panthers’ “heavy” package. Read more…
