The Marlboro Community Concerns [MCC] organization has recently made their concerns known to the Board of Education in a new, but very American way, by organizing peaceful rallies just before the meetings begin. They will do so again on Thursday night at 6:30 pm. just outside the elementary school cafeteria entrance for a “Trim the Fat” and “Cut Costs Not Programs” rally as they continue to make their case before the board and in the court of public opinion. Republican Plattekill Supervisor Bruce Loertscher passed away on February 12 at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie at the age of 56 after a long battle with cancer. Prior to his election as supervisor in 2006, Loertscher served 4 years on the Town Board and earlier was a member of the Planning Board.
